    Before your Sylfirm X treatment, keep things simple: for a few days beforehand, avoid strong actives (retinoids, acids, exfoliating scrubs) and tanning/sunbeds, and hold off on waxing, peels, or laser in the area for about a week. Come with clean skin (no makeup, SPF, or heavy products), stay well-hydrated, and try to skip alcohol and very intense workouts the day before. Please share your skincare routine, any medications or supplements (including blood thinners), medical history (e.g., tendency to cold sores), and if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. If you’re unsure about stopping any product or medicine, don’t worry—your skin consultant will give you personalised timings and instructions for what to pause and when.

For the first few days, skip makeup, hot environments (sauna/steam), intense workouts, pools/hot tubs, tanning, and strong actives like retinoids or acids; ease them back in once your skin feels calm. A little pinkness or dryness can be normal and usually settles within a week.     What to know about Sylfirm X

    How many sessions will I need?

    Typically 3 sessions for skin tightening concerns, or 4–6 sessions for pigmentation and scarring. Your clinician will create a personalised plan during consultation.

    What makes Sylfirm X different from microneedling, or other RF needling devices on the market?

    Traditional microneedling produces controlled micro-injuries to the skin to stimulate the release of growth factors and would healing. When this is combined with radio frequency energy in Sylfirm X, we can achieve far more precise and effective results, as the controlled thermal damage causes a greater level of tissue coagulation and stimulation, resulting in smoother, tighter, and more even skin.

     
    Sylfirm X features the “Na effect”, causing the RF energy to be released at the tip of the needle in a water droplet shape, with the residual energy tapering up toward the base of the needle. This protects the epidermis by reducing unnecessary heat at the surface of the skin. The needles are gold-plated, making them highly biocompatible in comparison to titanium or stainless-steel needles, which can cause micro tears when entering or exiting the skin.
     
    Numbing cream is not required for Sylfirm X facial treatments, due to the linear step motor featured inside the handpiece, which allows for a smooth penetration of the needles.     What should I expect after the treatment?

    Redness and subtle swelling are normal after a Sylfirm treatment using Continuous Wave mode, and will resolve in 1-2 hours. You might look slightly pink on bony areas of the face for the day, but this subsides quickly. Your skin may also feel warmer than usual.

     
    After a Pulsed Wave mode treatment, only a very mild pink colour will be seen on the skin, and this usually resolves in less than an hour, due to the gentler energy distribution.
     
    We suggest avoiding highly active products and physical exfoliation for 3-5 days post treatment. You can gently cleanse, moisturise, and apply SPF in the days following your Sylfirm X treatment. Using a hydrating or calming serum is also fine.

    Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

    Absolutely, especially when we use the gentle pulsed wave mode.
